We wake to the sound of rain against the leaves.
The sights and smell of the rainforest are hard to believe.
The brilliant green paints the trees that reach to the clouds.
We climb to the top, with amazement of the beauty we bow.
We can see for miles overlooking the trees.
We breathe in the clean air, feeling free.
I take out the camera and capture the majestic view.
I point to an eagle soaring amidst a sky of blue.
We ease down the trees and land in the plush green grass.
We explore the wildlife through our lenses as the monkeys swing pass.
I whisper "be still" and point to a tiger that is near.
Our hearts race as we try to hide our fear.
Our eyes widen as we focus the lens.
Our hands shake as we view the orange and black stripes blend.
Her eyes of yellow stare and mesmerize.
We can't breathe we can't move yet the moment is intense and alive.
You whisper OMG as her claws grip a tree to stretch.
She is only 20 feet away, it's just her and us without a net.
We sigh at the beauty as she walks away.
Our hearts still pounding, we wouldn't want it any other way.
