nostalgia

The channels of my
mind lead me to old
familiar
destinations.

Breathing in cold
winter air,

swaying to ambient
songs,

moving closer to
whomever I please.

A brilliant delirium
seeping into my
days, intensified
only by nights.

A silent voice
whispering love into
my ear, a word
brought to life by
my lips.

I swallow.

What’s wrong with
this life?

My happiness is born
from sex and drugs
and starving my body
till I’m gone.

Spinning until I
fall, my fragile
bones ache and my
mind continues to
buzz.

Stuck on those
little game pieces,

transforming my
entire being into
something unknown.

Memories become the
adhesive that binds
my life together.

Indifferent to the
world that surrounds
me.

Surviving on the
world in my mind.
