Winters Dance

The cold wind dances through semi naked branches
Twisting, twirling, mesmerising
Colourful Autumn leaves sway to the tune of an
approaching Winter
Slowly they move transfixed to an icy breeze
A cold dance of Salome
Lost to the macabre tune they move to a lost finality.
Until one by one they fall
Leaving a cold lonely tree to suffer Winter alone.

You have captured the bare trees atmosphere really well. Some things we like to look out on from a warm room. SuZ

Who gets left alone? Nice metaphor, but I wonder if there's more going on here.

A wonderful description of nature's beauty. It feels just like this, here in Wisconsin! We had a few snowflakes falling the other day. Autumn and winter are my favorite seasons, so I loved this poem! Excellent work, Tom!...My poem, "Ode To Autumn" has a similar theme.

Thank you Bindu, this is a re-working of a poem I wrote some time ago. I had the inspiration while watching the wind blow strongly through a tree outside my window during Autumn.
