There is something about you Aussie guys that is very charming! Miss Wattle is another and although she's lived here in Canada for a long while, she still maintains that special Aussie something! Good one, Thomas!!!

I love this Thomas; Sometimes it's not easy to leave your Home Land, but your home is where where you live best and where you have roots. Thanks for sharing..... Lucilla

Thomas I'm sorry you miss home but I'm glad you've made a new one. This was a strong piece and I enjoyed it immensely. Some may find it strange but I long for my Hawaiian roots though I've never been. I've had the privilege of getting to know my other half but not that one. Thank you for sharing.

Thomas, you expressed the impressive qualities from your heart..... sorry to hear of the heartaches... “Homelands” are some times dramatizing when troubles inflict daily dreams... amazing and deep...LINDA

thomas, I thought you were Aussie, but this sounds like another place was your original home. Was there a different one? I really like this. It's so nostalgic.

Beautifully written, Thomas. I was "born and bred" in OZ and now live in Canada - this really hit the mark. Thank you. Thanks again for your visits to my page.

I was born in the United States, and it will always feel like home to me. My great grandparents migrated here from Germany and Norway. I could not imagine how difficult that must have been for them. To leave home, for a new one would be impossible for me! An excellent piece of poetry!

I agree with Anne Lise; home is indeed where the heart is. I've been reading about some terrible wild-fires in your country; hope they are nowhere near you. Great piece, Tom :)
