Spiders

Most spiders prefer to lurk at night
Hiding far away from sight
But, if we see one there will be more
Perhaps around our bedroom floor
Asleep they'll crawl upon our bed
Near our unsuspecting head
With this the thoughts of spiders creeping
Might keep some of us from sleeping

Hi Jon, I loved this creepy poem on these so maligned creatures. We have our share of them down under, and they strike fear into the hearts of most. great words, so glad I found this one....peter

I like the poem, but not the spiders. They give me the creeps. I try to keep my home free of any insects, but sometimes they still get in. Thanks for sharing... Lucilla

I heard that we swallow a number of them each year in our sleep since they love "moist" areas.EEEEK Good one, Jon.

A great write, Jon! (slightly more tolerable imagery than huge, hairy, wide-eyed tarantulas lol). As I live in the country and these little critters lurk in every corner of the house, I lull myself into thinking if I leave them alone, they will return the favour - naive perhaps, but the only way to sleep :). Loved the poem.
