You Broke The Chain

I am in darkness
I do stand alone,
In the rain I stand
A thousand miles from home,
My heart so sad
No joy did it contain,
You came along
And you did break the chain.

My heart free
It headed for the sun,
Your siren call
It begged me to come,
Up I did go
Into a summer sky,
There you were
Tears you did cry.

It was you
You broke the chain,
You did free my heart
You let it Love again,
Now with me
Held in your Loving arms,
I shall know
All your dark, Angel charms.

Not one promise
Did I ask of you,
As we floated
Within God's verdant blue,
My beating heart
Now free to choose its way,
You did free Love
Upon this brilliant summer's day.

Holding close
I felt your heart close to mine,
That rhythmic beat
Which beat out Love's own time,
I knew now
I would e'er come back again,
To the one
Who broke my heart's captive chain.
