I Cannot Find It

once upon a time
I was an interesting fellow
now soft and mellow
I am a man looking for myself
I know I have a past but I cannot find it

I am sitting in a place
that can no longer hold me
watch out
prepare yourself
it is worse than you think
I know I have a past but I cannot find it

I am a mirror, a reflection of who I was
my mind is a blank but it keeps on going
my eyes seem abandoned like stones
the brain is a powerful thing, a thing to play with
to paste cherished memories
show ideas and feel love
stillness stabs at my heart
nothing knows me as I know nothing
where did all the memories go
do they live in my dreams
I have forgotten
I know I have a past but I cannot find it

I am afraid I do not know your name
god bless you
come back again
