Paradise Road

I've believed in you for so long
As if I was some kind of idiot
I can’t stand being so angry at you
You have helped me…. I've been crying out tears
Of shame…shame…

All of the memories spent with you
I don’t feel like I belong
I’ve let you down by my insanity
You grieved for me…but I’m too late
Watch me die…tonight…

I have so many things to look forward to…
Shadows haunt me everywhere I walk
And I feel so incomplete…running swiftly with my feet
I shake the sand off of them…
I dreamt of islands in my mind…

All of the memories spent with you
I don’t feel like I belong
I’ve not let you down by my vanity
You grieved for me…but I’m too late
Watch me die…today…

I spiral up and down…here and there…
Music purifies my ears
And I’ve lost touch of paradise
The past remains the same…same old crap all over again
It rapes my mind and puts me in a scary place

All of the memories spent with you
I don’t feel like I belong
I’ve let you down by my insanity
You grieved for me…but I’m too late
Watch me die…this time…

I roam in shadows…
and dream of red roses,
blooming gently on the palm of my hand
I belong in my own house and yet I feel like a fly, swapped on the wall
Craft me delight, God – that’s all
We all face our own fears…clothe me with Your love
From up above…
Vibrant instruments heal my soul again…
Run with me to the forest for a time…
That sweet day…that Kingdom will set us free
From blasphemed bondage

I have this pain in the bottom of my stomach…
It churns…oh it does burn…

All of the memories spent with you
I don’t feel like I belong
I’ve let you down by my insanity
You grieved for me…but I'm in a clean slate
Watch me reach to paradise road
