I never realized there was such a Saint but of course on finding out completely agree there should be. A beautiful prayer and one worth repeating. Thanks for writing this. Hugs SuZ

Uriel also appears in Jewish texts. According to the Jewish Encyclopedia and based on Jewish mystical traditions, Uriel is considered the Angel of Sunday, the Angel of Poetry and one of the Holy Sephiroth (holy attributes in the Kabbalah through which God reveals himself and continuously creates everything in the universe, both manifest and unmanifest). Just found this,"As a literary figure, Angel Uriel has also left his mark. In John Milton's, Paradise Lost, Uriel is referred to as the "Regent of the Sun" and plays a role in the fall of man."

Beautiful sentiment. And you taught me something in addition to making me love this poem. I didn't know about St. Uriel; thanks for teaching me who he is. Wonderful work; you are masterful with your words :)

I wish I knew how to comment in the same language - old words and styles, Thomas, but I am handicapped:) And, I love this poem! Excellent thought, and you really did capture the old-world charm!
