In the Bookstore

In the bookstore; need a gift.
Choices do abound.
Spend an hour in the aisles,
Looking all around.

Hard to tell what would appeal;
The present’s for a baby.
Though his shelves are empty now,
Each book elicits “Maybe.”

So I stand there, skimming through
The shiny cardboard pages,
Wondering if this or that
Will be one that engages.

Finally, I make a choice
As patience starts to dwindle.
All I hope is that as yet,
He doesn’t own a Kindle!

    haha, great ending. I see you are a jon Cavanaugh fan too. Isn't he great? You and he are my faves for witty poems. Just had to stop by and see something recent of yours!

    This is too funny ilene. Love the last line. Reminds me of the commercial with the baby in the crib with a laptop and a smart phone hidden away that he takes out when his lap top is taken away. That's what you can get your new grandchild next. An interactive kindle for kids. Love your poem.

    Such a clever wrap up ilene. :) So true, we start to wane the more that we peruse. Mom will always welcome presents, I haven't seen one yet refuse. :)
