Bridging water

she lies
outstretched
above the brackish fjord
grounded in streaming waters

she connects
often sketched
gorgeous flushed banks
mountainous hills

she shows
barriers etched
boundaries raised
a bridge too far effected

she carries
the weight fetched
by passerby transported
or on second thought restored

she carries
the weight fetched
by passerby transported
or on second thought restored

she embodies
all the farfetched
thoughts and dreams
embedded in my umbilical cord

my deficiencies
visible and etched
life's guidance
new roads the desired reward

Ellie, thanks much for this lovely poem using a bridge as a personification of science. I love the line breaks and stanza control you offer, it's very thoughtful and enjoyable to read. However, the contest rules requite the use of the personification form. It's good work regardless. Thanks much for entering my contest.
