Mysterious

My soul is like a deep shadow
you can look into my darkness
with the brightest source of light in existence
and try as hard as you can to figure me out
yet, you cannot see all of me
which leaves you to wonder.

You stare into these dark eyes
trying to see into my mind
like a psychic attempting to read my thoughts
my eyes sparkle and speak to your soul
without a single word spoken
yet, they do not say what is on my mind.

You think that I am hiding something
behind this invisible mask
even a microscope would not help you to see it
my enduring love is no masquerade
I am longing to show you my shy heart
which is the only thing hidden within me.

I have a loneliness and a shyness about me
that you seem to find rather intriguing
you speak and I can only smile at you
even Sherlock Holmes would have trouble solving me
I am a mystery known only to myself
and I would like to keep it that way.

We are all very much our own enigmas. I agree with our esteemed friend, Mustapha; I love the honesty and confessional feel of the piece. Well done, dear sister! :)

I like this one Kelly. Heartfelt honest expressions. You remind me of a certain confessional poet of old. Sent you a Soup mail.

have we met? I am sure this is about a woman I once dated. She was very quiet and careful about what she said and how she said it. I was patient but in time we grew apart. I do love a woman of mystery as I am still an inquisitive person. I like to dance with the wallflowers and make the shy girls smile.

wow! Kelly, wow! I think you are the most mysterious soup poet. I like the way you carry yourself, and the way you write. Sometimes hiding behind the invisible mask keeps us mighty among our equally peers.. I'm just saying... they don't need to know whats under.. good Sherlock Holmes line :-)... always~ your newest fan...Linda
