The First Fall Night Wind Brings Voices

The north woods forest
Brings voices with the first cold
Fall wind

Swirling chants, a pitch above the
Crisp wind, fill my ears

With Native American chants

I listen closely
Warnings best heeded
Of what's ahead

Drumming in the background
High-pitched shouts mixed

With victory chants

My spidey sense is on full

Alert

Strength fills my limbs

My boomerang sack is near
The door, must remember to bring my
Bullroarers

Thanking the wind before I throw
Tomorrow

Trusted old 'rangs
From makers long dead

Call out to me "I'm ready, old friend"

My left arm remembers
How to throw

My favorite booms remember
How to fly

They like fall

In

Minnesota

When the wind speaks, follow to where it may take you. I heed only the voices in my head (lol), Great writing, James. I like. Licia :-)

Enchanting! ... the grouping of the chants - the native people - the memories past, merging with the moment & tomorrows ... the symbolic boomerang, alluding to what we throw out there - returns back to us ... and you wrapped it all nicely in an exercise outing in Minnesota. Very nice Jimbo, very nice ... Poet-Pal, MoonBee
