A Thought for Africa when...
My pen dives deep in bravery of my emotional expression,
Going deeper in the ocean filled with confession,
Migrating from cold waters to warm waters of my heart,
Where I was gulped by a life terminating specie,
“Abra-ca-dabra, I and my pen are one - let me be,”
Be swimming in the belly of a shark,
Breast-stroking in and out of toxicated blood,
I propel, compelled by a heartbeat,
Felt in rhythm and reverberations making predators crave for a prey weak,
Rushing from the post to the anterior intestine,
Crawling to roaring cheers in my head, sweating my struggle to a beaming light,
With faith assuring will that “victory is mine,”
Despite reluctance to exit the busy
Tearing the future of Africa apart,
Cutting leaderships in half while the rest float in parts,
Hopeless, helpless – yet proud citizens of Africa,
Dreams exhausted by reality while wisdom saves a drowning hand,
Sobbing heavily in reserved memories of Africa’s death,
Wiping corporate tears resembling a man’s weakness and strength,
For where there’s a businessman, there’s hope for a better future.
