Do I Seem Like the Patient type

A calmness before the storm I've always felt inside Patience a virtue that seemed to slip out of reach Many times uncontrollable although I have tried I will swiftly sail for the deadly tumultuous tide If on the other side there is something I beseech A calmness before the storm I've always felt inside Somewhere in my life the word patience has died Passion is the only doctrine I confess and teach Many times uncontrollable although I have tried So obvious that these two ideas would collide One moves like a cheetah, the other like a leech A calmness before the storm I've always felt inside Ultimately that calmness loses and cannot reside The fire burns hot and the heart begins to preach Many times uncontrollable although I have tried Now when my heart calls I have chosen a side At that moment my very own reason I impeach A calmness before the storm I've always felt inside Many times uncontrollable although I have tried

Yes feel free to write a version, I would be honored. I actually remember the contest, because it was one I really wanted to enter. It was called Passion or Patience. The point was to try and pick a side and write a poem from that perspective. Thanks for your wonderful comment.

I kind of relate to this one. lately I have been feeling like some kind of storm is on our horizon. Possibly horrors we have not imagined yet. Well, probably that is not what your villanelle is about, but one part of it made me feel that way. I enjoyed how you contrasted these two feelings. You did a good job of it.
