Dark Knight-tress

This gown I feel nothing
Silk less feelings
The odor of intimate apparel lessens
Vanity fare from any sun
Warrior of beauty
Where have you gone?
A fortress of gloom
Not even death wants in
Black nail tips
Brownish plum lips

I close my eyes
I see them all
The Shadows
Climbing over my soul
The darken deepens
The stars dim my view
Irremovable makeup
Land becomes an enemy
I become
The Dark Knight-tress
Scolding my next victim

Wow Skat. Dark Knight-ress indeed. Your words put me in mind of the depiction of hell (sheol) from the movie, "What Dreams May Come" Your poem was expertly written, and I enjoyed it. Grats! Christopher Thor Britt

This has the wayward focus of finely crafted moods--dark and introspective, yet not wandering or diffuse. I think I understand it but maybe never will. Mark

Very introspective; like a critical self-portrait? I like it. It makes me take a closer look at myself in the mirror, and I don't always like what i see. Good poetry makes the reader think, and question, and want to read again to see what they missed. Like a good movie you see something different every-time; thank you. And thank you for the kind words about "Love Is". I wrote that poem 10 yrs ago for my family; they won't read poetry unless it rhymes; but I am a very happy middle aged Christian, with a great life and wonderful family. I enjoy meeting and reading other poets, when I'm not working. I am a member of our local Poets Society. I look forward to reading and meeting all of the Poets at Poetry Soup. Your Poetically new friend Jesse.
