There were fairies dancing all around
In a green and purple wonderland
The crickets chirped and the green frogs croaked
As those tiny campfires hissed and smoked
Tinsel, fairy queen just smiled
Her feet kept dancing all the while
For beside her lay the fairy child
Who one day would the world, beguile.
How the meadows filled with joyous crowds
Of woodland folk all gay and loud
This child would be their future queen
And a gayer bunch was never seen.
So people filled the valley lands
For a feast for all it had been planned
To celebrate this fairy queen
And let her beauty then be seen
The feast all over, folk did say
That it had been a bonzer day
As each of them went to their beds
To rest their tired and weary heads.
