Salt Water

A thing so paradoxical desire;
So all encompassing it’s grasp;
A curse of eternal thirst-
Though we are drowning.
Hands desperately scratching for a life raft
That is secretly made of the same water we drown in.
So we continue our daily floundering
Chasing a trail of crumbs we call “Hope”
