Lonely bars

I’m sitting at the bar
With some friends of mine,
We’re talking about
The old times.
The guy over there
Is drinking scotch and coke,
All I can hear
Are old rhymes.
In the corner, there’s
A chorus of loud voices,
The local band is
Struggling to be heard.
There are some guys
Getting set up for the night,
There’s a painted doll
Cracking onto the barman.
As the barman pulls
Another beer, the local hoods
Pick a fight with
Bloke they think’s a queer.
We have another drink,
And make that one our last,
We find an old parking spot,
And try to recapture
Some long lost class
