Summers End

gone are the hot beach days
lounging back
sipping a rum and coke
where romance found a silver spoon
while the stars above sang your name
time is running away
and we go along with it
no treading softly
as yellow leaves flutter to the ground
without a sound
to meet their parched end
shadows embrace lovers
knowing they will never feel the same
let’s pretend it’s not the end
raise your glasses in the air
as parties are dying down
meet the fall of summer with
cheers

It is a summer moment when summer memories end. As children summer lasted forever, as we get older they pass too quickly. A wonderful way to remember =)
