Reckless Angels

They fly over lives, goddesses of change
Casting shadows in time, turning sanctuaries
Decaying claims crumble old and bored
To lilting choices, raised from silent calls for help

They shrug off barren minds, limping handicapped
Smiling their innocence at rage and helplessness
A broken heart sometimes, a call answered nevertheless
To bring lives together that went astray on familiarity

These angels wing on, dancing tireless to the mystery
No spite or ignorance bruises their morphing realities
Guardians of keep, they tender forgotten hopes
Sometimes an adulterous spoke, on destiny’s wheel

Warping on, their work always seen in distortion
They pulse in networks of veiled wants and luster
Their purity known and felt by souls they have touched
Lie harpooned by the rest of a world that has lost…

If you could win a prize for titles this would take first place. I really enjoyed this piece, it gives me pause to think about these heavenly beings. Like us they probably fumble through their respective realities.

I love the sentiment and the imagery. Maybe what we hope for is never the reality. Thank you for visiting my page =)
