Morning Storms

As early morning thunderstorms
awaken me so beautifully,
the feeling in my heart transforms.
As early morning thunderstorms
arrive, a symphony performs …
as inspirational to me
as early morning … thunderstorms
awaken me so beautifully.

I didn't know this form, but you have acquainted me with it so gracefully with lovely flowing verse. There are little velvet pillows beneath every word.

Had to see what a triolet looked like. Now I know. Beautiful verse, beautiful vision.

Hi Becca, I have to say when I saw the title I wondered about the subject matter-my word association places storms with negativity- it was a nice surprise to see the positivity. It certainly gives depth to the poem. Very well penned. Soupmail.

What a nice feeling this poem invokes. There is music and beauty in a storm and your poem described it beautifully

Enjoyable read, Becca. Early morning I don't want to be distracted by any noise except my trusty alarm. For me it is thunderstorms at late afternoon or evening. Those can be worth watching and listening to. Suggestion: Since beautifully has 4 syllables, you might want to change it to handsomely (storms could be masculine???) or some other 3 syllable word so as to keep the line length at 8 syllables. Welcome to the site. I think your will like it here.

Oh my gosh, you are right!!! I can't believe that slipped by me! Thank you so much for pointing this out. I guess it's because I pronounce the word like "byoo-tuh-flee" haha three syllables yes?? No. It's really four.... hmmm... Handsomely just doesn't do it for me, but I'll have to see what I can come up with.... thanks again, much appreciated!! :)
