Mute morning of the Fall
Birds on wires shiver quietly
He doesn't hear much at all
Morning feels like cold of night
dark blue clouds linger overhead
blocking warmest sun from sight
Where is the morning paper?
No light, just dead man's winter
cold morning like an arctic night
Grandma says to put your coat on
you can catch pneumonia even the flu
maybe the sun will come out before long
Come in by the fire and have a sit
the hospital is not a very nice place
but it is there if you ever need it....
