Slowly drowning inside my mind
Suffocate on thoughts I find.
Within our head the worst nightmare
To drag me down to dark despair
Like quicksand clawing at my feet
I surrender, helpless to defeat.
The sickly sweet seductive call,
I heed the whisper to my downfall.
Upon my soul darkness descends,
Smothering even love for friends.
No passion flares within my breast
Withdrawn inside, all else suppressed.
I care not if the sun will shine.
Or lovers lips e'er entwine.
The world to end, of no concern,
So deeply mired inside I've turned.
The spark within has turned to frost,
And just as seems all hope is lost,
Through the inky dark of night,
Pierces the dawn, a sliver of light.
