Marie Curie


Marie Curie (7 November 1867 – 4 July 1934)

A woman scientist in research fields
Maria Sklodowska, was Polish born
Professor at Sorbonne, she thrives and wields
a dedicated, gifted soul and sworn.

In Physics and in Chemistry achieved
the honors to receive the Nobel Prize, 
the usages of Thorium perceived,
in radiology new modes comprised.

Uranium radiation caused in air
electric flow to be conducted through
the X-rays were emitted from the flare
the atom's core produced out to imbue.

In pitchblend ore, Marie and Pierre Curie
Polonium and Radium then speck
the couple was capable to foresee
what was predestined to allure and freck.

Silvanus Thompson, Becquerel and her
antagonized upon the Nobel course 
with dangerous their research to incur
unshielded equipment was the cause.

She was interred in Sceaux, alongside Pierre
and later honored with her interment 
to dwell in Panthéon and eft confer,
philosophers invite her to assent.

    I can remember learning about Madame Curie in school when I was a very young age..I had much admiration for her..You have done her a great honor here by writing about her great accomplishments..Thanks for the visits to my works..Sara

    She is one of the few female scientists I learned about as a child, and someone very noteworthy to write about. Glad to see you wrote of her, my friend.
