No Lo Tengo

She's gone
It’s hotel days
And cigarettes
I can’t believe
She left me for a matador
A cape upon the stairs

Mocking bird by my window
Speaking Spanish in the hall
I bounce from room to room
A knife in my hand
I slash at life blindly
An ass in the stall

Singing songs in Portuguese
I hear them through the wall
Upon a sea of certainty
I must make a call
Do I sleep with myself?
Or should I make a call

There are women who say they love me
But I don’t believe it’s true
I think they are just lonely
And hope that I would be true
But a matador has stole my love
And would they understand
That it’s not about the flesh
But more about the plan?

So tonight I sleep alone again
Not that I really mind
For a king bed for one
Is more than I can stand.
Muchas gracias
Amigo
No lo tengo nada
Just a memory of a bull
And a bird in my hand.

Dear Stephen - I 'fell' upon this today and am so pleased: "Mocking bird by my window speaking Spanish in the hall" is all by itself worth the reading. Yes fickle some say is a woman's name. But it's also a man who plays the game. Lovely poetry to a sad old song. gracias

Thats the harsh reality of life...some ppl are so lucky in love, I dont know if its fate, a soul mate, devine intervention...and others go through life trying to find that one person who theres just that connection but for some reason its lost & that pain is so severe cause its a restless journey...I hear you & I feel this poem,,especially the end ty4sharing:0) cherie...

Well what can you do. You live you love you loss. But I never give up. There's someone out there. And like I said earlier to Kay - one day I'll be sitting on top of the world and I won't be alone. Kilmer

Sadness and pain... confidence in the end, what choice do we have...? Pick up the pieces and move on, there will be someone who appreciates your love...

Thanks KT... You know me better than I know myself. Someday somehow I'll be sitting on top of the world. Kilmer

Wow. This was amazing. So much pain, but I feel some acceptance in the end though it may not be total comfort. The second stanza was my favorite and still plays as a movie, vivid in my mind. Always, Laura

Laura, thank you. I have lost my love mentally and that's what hurts the most. Kilmer
