Warrior Knight

  As the storm raged outside
The warrior knight on his trusty steed did ride
 Headed to the village nearby
To rescue a damsel who was scheduled to die

The lass with the blue ribbon in her hair
was to be fed to the dragon
And she cried a river of tears
Praying for someone to save her from the fiery one

The trusty steed was swift and strong
And they reached the village before long
Ready to battle the dreaded dragon
The beast that breathed fire would soon come along

   Then the fiery beast appeared
And people scattered in fear
But the brave knight was well prepared
And into the dragon's heart he plunged his spear

The dragons blood flew everywhere
And the villagers began to cheer
the lass with the blue ribbon in her hair
     shed no more tears
As the warrior knight had persevered

For the Medaeval contest

I am positively charmed by this medieval legend. Your verse two is so perfect, so medieval, so pitiful. I don't think anyone could not be affected by it. Then a smooth transition to a happy ending. Blue ribbons to you, sir.

Very descriptive with great medaeval images. Love the image of the lass with the blue ribbon in her hair.

yes, Joseph that actually occurred to me to call my words nerds, but birds seemed more poetic. heehee. That was sure a dopey poem I did!!! I think if it gets placed , it will only be because hardly anyone is entering her contest with "funny" poems.
