I beg all those who read my work to read it for pleasure and not inquiry....I again encourage you to read my poem...Lessons from Sonnet XX regarding this. I will NOT explain myself on content...Please...don't read too much into things.....You can never know what is fiction what is based on reality...DO NOT give yourself the freedom to speculate....Respect privacy. I reveal what I wish....fiction...reality...fantasy...MY choice. Yours to read or not.....If this continues....I may need to pull back....

I think the fact people comment one way or the other bodes to the significance of the piece and means that what you are writing has emotional significance. I for one applaud your fearless writing style. That is why I read and try to comment on all that you write. Have a great weeken Eileen, hugs Rick.

*cont'd* I practice a philosophy of Discordianism: if I do not explore the other sides of an argument, it can lose some of its truth and honesty. As authors posting in a public forum such as PS, there must be some personal accountability when tackling subject matter. Before I even click submit on certain subject matter, I realize there is going to be someone who is going to judge me for my content, whether it is fictional or not. Some people simply cannot resist the temptation. BUT some people will judge you for writing about the colour blue, so don't let yourself be cornered into a box. Take some risks with postings, ignore certain people; it's not even worth the argument. You might be left stewing, and the other person doesn't even care anymore. He/she is already flitting around other poems.

You are right! I will try to develop a tougher skin. People like you make this whole experience here worthwhile! Thanks for coming in to straighten things out in my mind. I do so appreciate it! :)

I hope this disclaimer is one that should be a constant law of the Poetic 10 Commandments for an audience to intrinsically uphold when reading the work of others. It shouldn't have to be stated out loud. The fact that you did feel the need to proclaim it openly, reinforces for me yet again how much more enjoyable the experience of sharing our work is, when people don't use the content as a leverage for open judgment against the author.

Oh Chris....trying to speak my language! :) How sweet and kind. Yes...I'm sorry I had to spell it out, but...I felt I needed to for various reasons! Yes...I know that this is a public forum and I will get all kinds of responses, depends on who is making the comment....Usually, we are able to take constructive criticism from those who have our best interest at heart!

TWO VERY KEY WORDS, Nette....personal and sacred! When I read anything to my students, I do mention..."Not a single sound while I read this...these words are almost sacred to me!" I almost forbid them from breathing! ;) Thanks so much for the encouragement! Hugs!

I don't think you could hold back even if you wanted to. Your words demand expression and we are the benifactors.

I'm with you on that score, girlfriend. If we were to write only about actual experiences poetry would be rather boring. Well, mine anyway. You do know why that happens with you, huh? You give life to a poem and the contents become real. Don't you dare pull back. I'll drag you right back by your Betty Boop hair. Keep on keeping on, my friend. We need you and your entertaining poetry here. Warm hugs, Licia :-)

You're an honest and colourful writer Eileen, I'm sure there will be odd ones that read all the I's, me's, and my's as being you literally you.. Most of us though, will see your writes for what they, explorations of the human condition from your unique perspective. So stop getting your knickers in a twist lol and you odd ones, get real. Take care, Richard
