Into The Gloaming

As daylight dims against a crimson sky
And evening star dust lightly dots the blue
And yesterday into tomorrow flies -
Like life, the twilight fades in different hues.

So bright the early days, then quickly gone
Like ships in freshened wind we gladly sailed
And through the midst of life forgot the dawn
As innocence of dreams became unveiled.

Each day the pages turn till end of time,
A story told and written as we pass,
So all that we have touched becomes entwined
And carried on beyond the very last.

We carry all we love along the way
Into the gloaming at the end of day.

You can please some of the people some of the time but not everyone all of the time. That is about the size of it. Patience is definitely a virtue when it comes to poets. Poems just keep flowing off of poets' pens instantaneously in a hear Poetry Destroyer's circumstances are totally ridiculous. Hate to say it but in many cases it is a woman thing. Us men are not as sensitive and emotional as woman are. Jim Horn 72 and married for 47 years and retired.

Craig, first the bad news. When I was making my top ten list, I had decided to place you as a tie for First place, but somehow I forgot to make that change and so the contest shows you at second . The good news, I honestly believe this deserved first place and I am sorry I couldn't give it to you!! Maybe there is a way to go into a contest and make that change, but I don't think so! Congrats. this sonnet is superb.
