I'm that funny ole clown
All smiles upside-down
What others see
Are only reflections of me
I look to the mirror, what looks back,
Are eyes that only see things I lack
Mirror, mirror on my wall,
Who is the most foolish clown of all?
Put on my mask of make-up paint,
And I can tell you all the things I ain't
Striving always to look my best,
A calliope heart strums in my chest.
Mirror, mirror on which I gaze,
just once, I wish for self-praise
Just a façade a charlatan mask
Who'd of thought a kind word such a task
A clown to the world is what they see,
I show them only a reflection of me.
The opposite of what I truly am,
How cruel of me to only condemn.
