Love's End

There is so much hate here in the Land of the Free
And the Home of the Brave
So much hate that it sickens me
To know that there is so much hatred,

So much distrust and so much bitterness
In this supposedly “free” country
When will everyone wake up?
Will anyone ever wake up and see?

That this is not the way to go
This is something people need to realize,
This is something people need to know
Otherwise things will never be the same

It all just gives me the blues
When we have to see Muslims tortured
Or see blacks assaulted on the evening news
Do you know what will happen?

If all of this hate continues on
All people will turn on everyone they know
Then all the love will be forever gone;
It will truly be love’s end

Love transfixes and when given freely changes everything. Re-seed and plant new gardens. Love will find a way to the heart when shared with others.
