The Clown

The clown a living metaphor of what you see Still learning to make a funny face to walk differently to perform before an audience A juggling fool with worn out socks in waiting for an applaude to satisfy a world of melanchony delerium and expectations Wearing a big shoes bigger than its being Keeping balance of all inbalance to nurture hungry mouths which survive on half a planet or what is left of it To feed human shadows Which await the round red nose and stretched out lips Which await the mask that veils turmoil and pain The clown with a spirit to live and heart to die is back in full circus splashing coloured confetti on dark shades of grey The clown a tear away from who I am The heterozygote twin in the mirror of my mortal smile is back in town and coming out to play

Hi Charmaine, an enjoyable yet somewhat sad piece. The one thing you can't be compared to is a clown. The moon, the glittering stars in the Heavens, the very timeless sea, yes. These things also bare the sorrows of the clown at times. As Liam says, it will pass. I know this. I suffer from depression and yet you or anyone else would never know. I'm a clown, because in my darkest moments i'm actually at my funniest, so that makes me the real clown. Your friend, MIKE.

I loved it. Precise, analytical, philosophical, complete and sad. Your vocabulary was carefully chosen. Congratulations CC! :) G.
