She Sings In Secret Symphonies -

As my youth goes yonder her beauty says to me yet, bet, yea,
in my mouth the word beautiful becomes a flavor of valor,
she likes to whisper moments of sad love & tender tragedy
into the ears of quiet poets as they trace the perfection of the Present
with quills dipped in the tails of comets destin for drama,

as you walk wantonly along trails her melody invites
she'll scorn with a question of why are you here with her
then the nails she sharpens with teeth of nuture
will attach One to a cross of commitment, a relic of costly consumption,
because she must have you
as a shadow must have a soul to follow
within the humiliation of Light,
as an owl finds comfort in the concealment of night,

so subtle in admission of affection
although profuse in protection of the Ones she charms,
sensitivity she cannot escape, always hurting to be an angel,
born to be a Princess with feet in mud and eyes on the stars,
deserving dreams of diamonds cast on diadems
while living to endure harsh humanity
an adequate lover her timeframe will accept,
quotes from adolescence she repeats romanticaly,
'Love me in the heat, love me on the ice,
defend me from the cheat, define me despite the price',
alone in her desire I am the champion of her fire -

I am happy Linda- love the sensuous, studious & shadowy new avatar - you are intriguing my Sphinx - my lataest post is a bit geopolitically heavy & rigid but I also believe it presents good artistic value, and very important information - I try to cover alot of territory my beautiful friend - J.A.B. %

Some fine alliteration here. I think you meant "destined" in the fifth line. Have you read much Tolkien? He wrote some fine alliterative poetry. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

I do not like the sound or feel of 'destined' so I'll keep the original spelling - I do appreciate your thoroughness though - thanks for the reference Matthew - up to this stage in my life I have only study and enjoyed non fiction scholarship, although I have read and respect the poetry of Emily Dickinson - alliteration makes fine music and emotion; so glad you noticed - J.A.B. %

Thank you Christine - the line you refer to is a symbol of the duality of our necessity and our dreams, potential; the Divine and the brute in us - sometimes we invent conflicts & divisions that encumber a higher nature - J.A.B. %

You are a fierce creature Laura - owls have unparalelled beauty in their camoflague, they are predatory, reclusive, see in the dark, and beautiful - I can understand why you are attracted to them - J.A.B. %

I'd love to hear more of her secret symphonies, Justin. I like PD's comment-"your words burn". They do but it is a nice burn. I agree with the rest as well. Beautiful, beautiful work. Very impressed. Always, Laura

Humanity can be quite repulsive, and repugnant to virtue - we all have our missions to explore and pain to endure my Shinx - your passion is exquisite and severe PD., and I love you for the inspiration you instill - your courage and confidence will not allow you to accept failure - I thank you for the joy you share - J.A.B. %
