Inspired by some reflection & an awesome rock song from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, titled "Salvation".
Into my way
Into my light
Into my winds
My way back
From your vanilla façade
I sip chocolate liquor
From your glassy fingertips
Knowing I will never taste you again
You became final resting call for anticipation.
Fluttered heart became court jester’s gavel
Banging to the beat of a self-important audience
Flashing “applaud” signals
To ease vanity’s addicted validations
And you take
And you take
The world from bones
Snatch away my withering calligraphy
Wisk asunder my bilingual dialects
Unto your meaningless presence
As I say goodbye
To the ONE
Who turned me into number TWO!
Your dreams could never count that high.
I would crack virgin bottles of Jack Daniels
Over front steps of churches’ sadness
Simply turn you into a prayer
To embellish its friendship upon your sacrificial lips
Like you’ve done to me!!!
I raise my lip stained glass.
Pouring coughs of your incomplete sentences
Into shamelessly advertised paragraphs
For I hear you saying “I’m sorry”…
…the 1st time we’ve ever agreed on something.
My smile knows the way from here.
