Buried Treasure

She basks beneath the evening moon, She listens for the seaside drone; Murmurous waves, the blue lagoon Mountains before the sunset's tomb. The water's claws could bring her home, The sparkling ripple be her toll; A thousand ships have passed her own This island lies a buried soul. She's naked and exposed at noon Heart wand'ring down the beach's bone Ears open to the windy tune Eyes drawn each comely rose and stone- Each grain of sand a call from home Inside a bottle with a scroll She throws it back, her mem'ries roam This island lies a buried soul. Her talisman an ancient rune She found beneath the biggest stone- Her good luck charm, a crooked spoon Left by the last to eat alone. How many left their lives to stroam? We left a piece behind our whole Abandoned friends and families dome This island lies a buried soul. My body sinks into the foam I listen for the crackling coal High burning embers, find my home This island lies a buried soul.
