Letting Go

"Letting Go!"

Behind that garden rail;
Where worms, squirm and roam,
They dig into every worst part of my day.
I feel them crawling, making my hide their home.
They feast on my will, and my dead walking soul.

Slowly I am fading away into a cloud of nothing.
I find myself reminiscing the moment I meet you.
With scars and guilt,
I can’t let go!

I’m cold and miserable inside.
Different emotions, I no longer hide.
I can’t seem to heal the deep cut from within.
Echoes are twisting moods that have no meaning.
I sit, with a jar full of tears, holding on tight.
Afraid of letting go!

The hollow walls slay in every way.
The abyss of a waterfall, resides in my heart
This throbbing starvation, repeats the taste it longs for,
I have no control.
I can’t feed without you by my side.
I won't let go!

There is much pain in your words. There are always going to be crossroads for us to chose and sometimes that path is not an easy choice. Thinking of you from afar Linda :)

Hi Linda, a most heartfelt write. The hardest thing of all for us to do is to let go. Yet do we not suffer more for holding in all our pain and suffering. You take us deep into the emotions of our inner selfs. Many of us have felt these emotions, some of us have let go, knowing it was the best thing to do for all concerned. It still isn't easy. As always, your piece is interesting and very emotional. Feelings go out to you. Have a good day. Later. Your Friend always....MIKE.

I can feel your heart when I read this poem. It makes me sad. I wish I could mend your hurting heart. But there is always a bright side to the darkest moments in life. The good memories are ones to cherish, and the bad memories only make you stronger. I love it when you put your full emotions into your poems.....Luv.....Roger

When I found this poem, it was as though you were reading my mind. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about my past and the time I had to let go. It was so painful, but in my case, necessary. I could go on and on, but for everybody's sake, I won't.

6/26/2013 is my 72d birthday. Keep the faith and certainly keep writing poems. That is what God made our minds for. I'm sure that God and you will agree. Just back from Disneyworld and vacation. Have been inactive for a week.

This poem is definitely one that tugs at the heart strings. I can relate so well to this feeling....Great work on this piece!....Thank you for the nice comments on my poem, "Near". Yes, it is just a poem, not reality...more of a metaphor of lost love...my poem, "Soul Mate" is very similar to it.
