Goddess of War

Furious scowls reveal marked displeasure
Void of joy, she pointed her finger
Muddling through a decayed existance
Cloaked in hostility she sputtered and hissed
While keeping her life clenched tight in a fist
The goddess of war reigns pained indignance
Afraid of losing control, she tightens her grip
Unable to unlock the secret of this spiritual disease
The angry spirit of menacing flesh has thrown away the key

Athena does have a temper, but she is good for the world. Thanks for the glimpse into her uncelebrated side Karen. J.A.B.

Without knowing what lies within, beneath or behind, I can only say that this was a pretty good poem. I sense a bit of hostility fueled by anger. Hell hath no fury like that of a woman scorned. Thanks for the read. Rockman :-)

Sure do wish there were no goddess of war!! The last line of this is very fitting! Wasn't Athena a goddess of war?

Sounds like one angry lady, thrown away the key, lost the plot, lost the idea of making peace, I wonder. Very well written Karen. I think I've met a few that would fit this vivid description. Take care, Richard

Richard, a very fearful and unhappy lady. Anger comes from fear, I suppose, which is also how I see war is formed. A parody between the making of war and exhibiting hostile emotions. Thanks !
