An Outrage

I saw a man going down the street,
I thought it odd, he had no feet.
I saw a woman by a newspaper stand,
I thought it odd, she had no hands.
I saw a girl smelling a rose,
I thought it odd, she had no nose.
I hadn't gone another pace,
I saw a boy who had no face.
I saw it all, such a disgrace,
To set of a bomb in a marketplace.

For the Innocent People of Baghdad.

WOW! This is very powerful, Dave...I'm glad that the plight of those in Baghdad touches you. :) I see you are in Cyprus. I lived there for 17 years and do speak Greek. :) Whereabouts are you? I have family in Nicosia.....Nice read today...thanks for sharing

Hi Eileen, thanks for stopping by and commenting on my stuff. I have lived in Paphos for 5 years now, Still trying to master the lingo. I wrote the piece for my good friend Andrew White who is known as The Vicar of Baghdad. God Bless.
