Death of Freedom

(Nonet)

The heart of the eagle fills with grief
as she flies over our nation
and sees the death of freedom.
Her tears fall over all
America, land
of tyranny,
no longer
of the
free.

Such harsh reality & truth to these lines. Very strong piece.

It scares me to realize this poem true. Our freedom slowly gets taken away and most stand idly by. Great write!! A warm welcome to poetry soup!- yours truly Edward
