The Fairest of All the Roses

The fairest of all the roses in the walled garden’s afternoon hush, this blossom delicately poses, making the other blooms blush, In the walled garden’s afternoon hush, while standing enticingly making the other blooms blush, is a beauty gazing at me. While standing enticingly, with her soft upswept auburn hair, is a beauty gazing at me. She answers this lonely man’s prayer! With soft upswept auburn hair; in her long flowing gown of white, she answers this lonely man’s prayer, making the garden grow bright. In her long flowing gown of white, this blossom delicately poses, making the garden grow bright - the fairest of all the roses! For the George Dunlop Leslie Poetry Contest of Isaiah Zerbst

An excellent pantoum which is not easy to compose from a gifted writer. Still working on getting one to flow so easily. Hope you win the contest.

The repetitiveness of the form you have chosen combined well with the beauty of your words, and paints an excellent tribute to a beautiful painting. Best of luck in the contest, Andrea! David

Hi, my dear friend Andrea! Good afternoon here. I came back to read your poems & fave it esp. the last one. Thank you so much! This one is an excellent and amazing write of yours once again. I can vividly recall the beauty of the painting through your poem. A great dedication to one of the greatest painters indeed. I like his work very much. I'm also writing a poem for him now. Hope I can post it later. I'll love your poem. Thanks a lot! love much, Leonora

"Oh Rose Marie I love you." Remember the song? Your fine poem reminds me of that tune Nelson Eddy sang to Jeanette McDonald. Great job comparing a rose to a woman - at least this is the under tow. Love, daver

did not need the picture Andrea, your visual attributes are perfection itself...so is your poetry

Your poem looks better than the picture you describe. I find the girl adorable, but with some imperfection in the posture. She looks slightly bent towards right. In your verses she is perfect!

You are amazing, this one really captivates me and I have not even seen the painting.
