My Mother Said

My Mother said life was not meant to be easy
At the time I was not sure what she meant
I was young but she always said that to me
When things went wrong or if I was upset

Now life has tested me with lessons of my own
Mother was trying to tell me what will be will be
Every day when I wake up I know not what I’ll find
If I will have a good day or the day will wear on me

But there is one thing that I have learned
With all the experience I have gained
You have to try to find hope through bad times
Shining brighter than all the days it rained.
