How Many Heroes Now Have Gone Unsung

It’s said that only the good die young. So many souls with hearts of gold we’ve lost! How many heroes now have gone unsung? They’re taken with no mercy. At what cost? We cannot know the good they would have done. So many souls with hearts of gold we’ve lost! They lie in cold hard graves beneath our sun. If only they had been allowed to bloom. We cannot know the good the would have done. How swiftly do they sometimes meet their doom. And all their loved ones have to show is grief. If only they had been allowed to bloom! Each sprout not let to even grow one leaf! What utter waste! They had so much to give, and all their loved ones have to show is grief. Each sprout not let to even grow one leaf. It’s said that only the good die young. What utter waste; they had so much to give! How many heroes now have gone unsung?

I think it is horrible that the young must die for the older , wiser and richer governments. They have to follow orders even if it means death. love phyl

When I think about it it makes me furious that our youngest have to die for the greed of the elder. Love, daver

Hmm...Only the Lord has the power over life and death; I have seen many things come to pass that had been presented to me in secret, take for instance. ' that British icon ' sir James Saville; who did do a lot to raise funds for poorly children..but at the same time was a vile predator; maybe someone could have had a bad stroke at say 30yrs only God knows what is to transpire; A thought provoking write though Andrea congratulations on the win; best regards Joe..)

It's beautiful and attentive. It's odd but death pays no price for what he takes. The transaction is irregular but valid. The poem impressed me! Thank you for it. G.

Each plays their part in the greater scheme of things, many do go unsung but none are forgotten, the day these sacrifices are made for will come. Very moving write. Take care, Richard

Reads like a winner for Deb's contest..Thanks for stopping by..Yes, the only difference in little boy toys and grown men toys is that the grown men's toys cost more..Enjoyed reading this one..Maybe the good die young for they would have made a wrong turn somewhere along the way...Sara

They gave their lives so we could live. And our thanks is all we have to give. What feats they would have ever done. Was equaled with their battles won. Their sacrifice is not in vain. For what we've lost is for our gain. Peace be to all who mourn. A beautiful tribute Andrea.
