Drained Away

I fear one day I'll have nothing to say
The pen that I hold it has no more ink
The well spring of ideas drained away

My lips will be parched I will long to drink
A blank page before me eyes filled with tears
The pen that I hold it has no more ink

I guess we all worry we have our fears
More than one way to look at what I see
A blank page before me eyes filled with tears

I can be refilled if I am empty
I may need to be quiet for a while
More than one way to look at what I see

A stack of poems on my desk in a pile
All the thoughts that have occupied my mind
I may need to be quiet for a while

My own voice blocked out now what will I find
I fear one day I will have nothing to say
All the thoughts that have occupied my mind
The well spring of ideas drained away

May this be far from you, Richard. What would life be like without your writes? Needed to read some of the older ones today. Hope all is well. HUGS...

You have the right spirit. May God continue to bless you and may your words continue to be a blessing to others, Richard.

Yes, all is well. If and when this happens it would be okay. Last time I had a seven year pause. Life has seasons and when I think how much God has given me to write I feel I have had more than my share. I hope he keeps pouring into me but if he doesn't I am still thankful.

Richard, you were one of the first poets to go into my favorite poet's folder. I still don't have many in there, but your poems sure have filled my favorite poems folder. I hope whatever is causing this will go away soon. This place is NOT the same without you.

It has not gone away, but sometimes I wonder what life would be like if inspiration eluded me.

I don't believe the ideas will ever truly stop just take longer and longer breaks. I find each time I get back into my writing spurts I feel more experienced than the last time around... though I do share the same feelings now and then. I pray the writing bug keeps with you... may your "condition" never go away ;)

Richard, I'm already at that point. I cannot for the life of me come up with even a nursery rhyme. I've decided it's no good forcing what is not there and to give writing a rest for a bit. I doubt you'll ever reach that point, my friend. Great poem, by the way. Licia :-)

I had gone away from writing for seven years but seem to be making up for lost time.

Richard, have you ever seen a Spring dry up?

Not personally but it can happen.
