Melancholy Memory

Awaken Mama!
It was my daughter's voice.
Gentle shaking gave me
little choice.

Not wanting to hear,
I tried to turn away
from her sad face and tears.
To delay.

I'm sorry Mama,
I wish it was not true.
I don't want to bring sad
news to you.

Her words broke my heart.
My precious son is dead.
He is too young to die.
My soul bled.

We held each other
and mingled anguished tears.
And so we sat until
daylight nears.

Joyce, congratulations on your well deserved win. There is no greater pain that losing your own child. God bless your heart Joyce. I know this happened a while ago but the pain will always be strong. Thank you for stopping to congratulate me as well. It seems that we've had our own trials and tribulations on the earth already. Love, Gail

I can't imagine losing a child......no matter the age, however it were to happen....nothing could be worse. I know just from losing my own son-in-law recently, how terrible it hurts.
