Melancholy Memory

Sixty-two years, Dad.
That's all you were given.
Too young? Maybe too old.
Maybe both.

Four sorrowful years.
That's how long it has been.
Each day seemed much harder
Than the last.

There was no goodbyes,
You were gone just like that.
There was no chance to say
I love you.

Said it many times.
But not that very day.
I missed that one last chance.
To say it.

That is my regret;
More than anything, Dad.
Still I hope you will know
Just how much.
