Youth Poured Out

In all times there will be young who die.
There are too many people to list.
Those left behind alway wonder why.

In our great sadness we shake our fist.
It's not fair they are taken away.
There are too many people to list.

With war there's always a price to pay.
We sacrifice our young at that cross.
It's not fair they are taken away.

In the end is it worth all that loss?
Causes written down in history.
We sacrifice our young at that cross.

Winners or losers there's misery.
In the end we must all pay our share.
Causes written down in history.

It's not a matter that we don't care.
in all times there are young who die.
In the end we must all pay our share.
Those left behind always wonder why.

I dedicate this poem to my friend Timothy Hicks.
He has recently lost a close friend to war.

A wonderful dedication, and heart moving poem, yet it doesn't take away the depth and sadness of anyone who dies too young, which is always a tragedy, and so hard for us to grasp and understand how it could happen and why.A very touching poem, Richard.

My heart howls with pain and anger for the poor young dreamers who beleave in their own death because they have been lied to. I pray for peace and I do it often. Let the liars and war profiteers be proud of their black hearts. My thoughts of peace and love to Mr.Hicks Thank You Richard.

I am with you on this one, the old and bloated send the young to war to pay the price for their massive egos or for the associated financial rewards. Very little is moral accept the morals of the idealistic youth who wish to make a difference.

I'm happy you have a faith I will find someone! Like I said previously I am in no rush... for now I will just imagine it through the outlet of writing.

I have no doubt my friend. Women love men who can communicate their feelings. You will be a blessing for your future bride Tim.

This is a very moving poem and that "we sacrifice our young at that cross" makes it even more powerful. My heart goes out to Timothy, so sad.

Richard... I am touched you were thinking of me when you wrote this. I'm still in the "wondering why phase", sad to say. But I guess it's natural and there's a time for everything... you're always thinking of others and that's why I admire you so much.

I have never lost a friend to war yet each time I hear of a young person who is lost I feel a piece of my heart has been taken away. Thanks for commenting Tim.

What a wonderful tribute to the men (and woman) dedicated to keeping justice in this world often at the cost of their lives. Both a tragedy and a truth of humanity who fight for their beliefs and country.
