Tired

I'm tired
 Tired of being treated
       differently
  'cause I'm,
 well
      different

 I'm tired
Of
 being stared at
       and hiding my braces
       under the camouflage
       of my colored
         skinny jeans
         and
masking my
        darker self
      with mascara and
       a rainbow
          like
Reading
others' faces
as they make
their judgements
without hearing
my arguments

  but they
are futile
 and people are
impressionable
but compassion
Is expressable
But where is it?
In my dreams?
I wouldn't know
I don't sleep
     and
I'm tired
' cause
I gotta explain

why I
 walk like
a penguin
though my
feet aren't
Happy
And why
I wear
my braces all
the time
and I will
until I die
and I'm tired
of explaining
and so I'll stop talking
and fall asleep
and wake up
the next day,
still
tired.
