The Obscure Little Poetess

The obscure little poetess
Leans forward in front of her screen
Her fingers fly over the keys
As she writes up her little dreams

Each tiny key that she presses
With her butterfly touches light
Brings to life her deepest feelings
On her computer screen so bright

She pauses for just a moment
And gazes at her pink flowers
She wonders if her words will bring
Those needed refreshing showers

She looks inside her little heart
And searches with all of her might
Trying to find the hidden words
That will make her lines come out right

She’s lost in her own perfect world
Filled with such beauty and delight
A change from her hideous world
That is filled with demons of night

Sometimes on these same little keys
A lonely tear or two will fall
But she quickly wipes them away
As she hears her fantasies call

In this place filled with desire
She can be a princess or queen
With someone who just adores her
Who makes love to her every dream

She creates the most perfect place
Where love never dies or betrays
Where all is just goodness and light
For the sun never sets for days

She hides in this make believe land
From the cruel truths of her life
It’s where serenity abides
For there’s no horror, no, nor strife

In her sweet little reverie
In her enchanted world of rhyme
She’s once more who she used to be
A woman blooming in her prime.

Dear Eileen, I can understand Your Poetry, but I do have a hard time of telling truth from imagination. The last two lines in stanza 5 A change from her hideous world that is filled with demons of night How could you possibly live in a hideous world. I find Your Poetry very intense. I mean this in a good way,You and Harry have a lot in common in Your Writings Respectfully Flipper

Every poem has a grain of truth, but the author also does embellish for effect at times. As for me...the demons I struggle with are depression and low self-esteem. :( I'm my worst enemy, Flipper. Sometimes I find it hard to go on, but I know my family needs me and so I persevere. I also know that God isn't finished with me yet so...Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you like the intensity.

Wondefully written... Inspiring and encourging!! We all need acknowledgement at a time... but years ago, I have abandoned this quest... and started writing for only myself! ..... But as for you, Queen Eileen, you are already upon your Throne.. :D

WOW WOW WOW! Guru Jad...that's amazing! Thank you. Well, I also write for the enjoyment, but I do need the support and encouragement. I thrive on it, so thanks for being generous with your words of praise. It means a great deal to me! :)

Obscure to the masses, maybe...but not to those who know and love her. And yes, Eileen...I would like my cake to be camo..;)

You see to know a thing or two about eye-catching titles as well! Though obscure I don't think you are ;) I wonder if you are referring to a younger you or perhaps your daughter...

:) No...this is me...I was afraid I'd overused the word little...what who am I in comparison with the world of poets who have come and gone before and who are yet to be. Yes...I'm a little obscure poetess...but I'm happy! :) Thanks, Timothy...you are a dear friend.

I liked it and congratulations. Nicely descriptive, expressive and spiritual. The term "obscure" maybe wrongs the content. Thank you for it.

Thanks, Giorgio. Obscure in the sense of not being renowned. Thanks for the advice though...appreciate it.

This was a very adorable piece. Loads of charm & simplicity. A good quote from one of my favorite comedians, Steve Harvey: "You may not yet be where you want to be. But, be glad you are not where you used to be." Cheers to this piece!

Breathtaking! Where would we be without our magic pens? The places we can travel beyond the confines of reality. Thanks for taking us along with you.

Yes, it is good to have somewhere to travel to when things just get out of hand. Thanks for the post, Richard. I'm glad you enjoyed the ride.
