Diana

In a small village there grew
                           a beauty pure, and true
                           a flower beyond pristine
a shy rose not yet seen

Blessed are those who can hear the screams of flowers picked to soon.

A woman grounded in earthly hue
came to light in Royal blue.
A lady of depth and substance
                            towered above pomp and circumstance.

Blessed are those who can cradle a wilted body without pause, or fear.

With our heads bent in silent contemplation,
we bid farewell to the conscience of a nation.
To “England’s Rose” we say good-bye.
Good-bye to our lovely Princess Di’

Blessed are the wingless angels that walk in the valley among us.

Befitting sentimental send-of to a Great Lady. Her charity work in Africa made her an icon transcending borders! Thanks Kim. Well-written. Unique style......JM

I was angry about her death for, in my mind, she was the only one to ever humanize England's Royals to the rest of the world. The fact that she "towered above pomp and circumstance" made her loss to the world more profound. I am proud to know someone from Wales enjoyed my attempt at honoring her.

Very moving tribute to Lady Di! I did find her absolutely intriguing. So tragic...a flower plucked too soon. Lovely write!

Thank you again! I once talked to a man that worked at a job that was something like a bodyguard to her and he said she was everything we thought she was and much more. Kim
