Edinburgh

Sweeping through your Scotch Broom,
weeping over your cobblestones,
lilting around the columns of Calton Hill,
is an Age of Reason so brilliantly brooding,
some nights I am kept awake
listening to Pendragon's breath caress Arthur's Seat,
and whispers drip from sills on Ramsay Street.

Though roots may drink from a sleepless night,
when morning light creeps through the curtains,
my love for you is renewed.

Chris, you brought me there. The proper names of streets mingled with tender descriptions of the city make it so feel-able.

I've never been here. One day, I might. The setting here was excellent. Kudos on your punctuation applications. ;) You rock man!

Do you know that the term raspberry (for Raspberry Awards) is used in its irreverent sense, as in "blowing a raspberry"??? I didnt know this expression.

I'll be back tomorrow to post a "decent" comment (I have to google the allusions! LOL) Scotch Broom, Calton Hill, Pendragon's breath, and Ramsay Street ... I have no idea!! : D

Creative perfection here. Mastery of art, imagery and feeling all tied up into one. Well done

Some writes are relaxing, make you want to be there but few are educational at the same time--this is!

This poem, when I first read it, made me think of Sleepless Nights, dreaming and the sound of footsteps on cobblestones...dragon's breaths and so many fairy-tale images just drifting...Great use of poetic devices and the brevity is superb, my Love. What a beautiful ending. Well done...

You know that feeling of a week of rain, near freezing temperatures, howls of wind... and then you get up on day 8 and it is sunny, 23, cloudless, a pleasant breeze is blowing? Well, this poem brought me THERE. Smiling. What a way to start my morning. I faved it. Oh, lol, I am a barely-reformed adjective junkie -- I lecture myself along with everyone else.. gotta fly girl up
